Heather Hills 2022 Opening and Season Info

Happy 2022 Pool Season!

We passed our 2022 inspection and we are excited for this summer! Please read through the below for information around this year. We have a lot to tell you so let’s get to it.

Opening Weekends

We will be doing our soft opening the weekend of May 21-22. Our official opening is Memorial Day Weekend!

Pool Hours
The YMCA is back and using our pool again for their summer daycamp at Aversboro Elementary. Beginning on Monday June 13th they will be onsite at the pool M-F from 9-11AM.

Pool Hours are as below:

  • Weekday Hours from Memorial Day through June 11
    Mon-Friday: 4pm-7pm
  • Weekday Hours from June 14 through end of Season
    Mon-Friday: 12pm-7pm
  • Weekend Hours starting on Saturday May 22
    Saturday: 10am-7pm
    Sunday: 1pm-7pm
  • Weekday Holidays (aka Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day)
Holidays that fall on a weekday will operate on Saturday hours of 10am-7pm.

Concession Stand
The Concession Stand will be open for snacks on the weekends only. Prices will be posted at the Concession Stand. The Concession Stand will be CASH and credit cards ONLY. Check payments will not be accepted for concessions.

Bring your own Food/Drink
As always families are welcome to bring their own food and drinks as long as they are in plastic or metal containers. NO GLASS IS ALLOWED INSIDE THE GATE due to safety reasons.  Please be aware that the Board will be monitoring the deck and if we see glass inside the deck, you will be asked to remove the glass item.

Food Trucks
The last few years we were able to have food trucks. However now that the food trucks are able to book at larger festivals since COVID restrictions are gone, many food trucks are asking us for a non-refundable deposit or asking us to guarantee a certain number of sales. We would be responsible for any sales not made. As such, we do not have any food trucks booked this year. Turn and Burn BBQ is the only one we have so far that is not requiring a deposit or sales guarantee, they will be on site for Opening Weekend on Saturday May 28.

If you know of someone with a truck that would be interested in getting on the schedule, please have them email hhcpool2@gmail.com.

Electronic Check In

All paid members as of opening day will be entered into our Check in computer system. When you arrive at the pool, please give the check in attendant your name and the names of those in your family entering the pool. They will check in the individuals as necessary.

Please note that we will be verifying email addresses at the start of the season as we have had some emails bounce back to us when we have sent out mass emails with information in them. We want to be sure that we have everyone’s correct email and while we love all our members, some of the handwriting is hard to read on the applications!

Please be patient with our check-in attendants as they follow the check in process and email verification processes, we have asked them to follow.

The pool be unguarded Monday – Friday and only have guards at the pool on Saturday and Sunday when the larger crowds occur.  While this is not the optimum situation, this is no different than an apartment or HOA pool that is unguarded. This is due to the ongoing situation where Triangle Aquatics (and all pool management companies nationwide) are having issues getting enough guards to cover all operating hours of all pools. In speaking with Triangle Aquatics many of the area pools are in the same situation as us and have been making the same decision regarding guards for their Monday-Friday hours.

There will be a pool attendant that is Triangle Aquatics employee at the pool during the weekday hours.  This employee will be CPR Certified (not lifeguard certified) and will be running the check in for the pool.

Diving Boards

Since there will be not a guard on duty Monday-Friday the diving boards will be closed during those times. We realize that the diving boards are a lot of fun for all ages, however based on safety concerns, this seemed like the best decision. Boards will be open to all on the weekends when there are guards on duty.

Job Opportunities

Do you know a teenager looking for work this summer? Are they interested in being a lifeguard? Triangle Aquatics is looking for lifeguards for the summer.

Their website has the application linked from the home page: www.triangleaquatics.com

Alternatively, they also have a domain that takes the interested party directly to the application (it’s easy to remember!): www.lifeguard.love

Once the application is filled out, a representative will contact them by phone for a virtual interview.

Swim Lessons

We are thrilled to welcome Cheryl Logan back again this summer as a swim lesson and swim safety teacher! She is certified through the Red Cross and has been teaching new swimmers of all ages in private or group lessons for numerous years.

To sign up for lessons, contact Cheryl through her website:

Heather Hills 2022 Membership Season

Happy New Year!

With the wild weather we had this week it is hard to believe it’s already time to start thinking about the summer season. We hope everyone had a fantastic Holiday season and that the New Year is going well.

An email was sent out in the beginning of January to all members from the 2021 season with information about the 2022 Pool season. Information about the 2022 season is also be available on this website at https://heatherhillspool.com/pool-memberships/.

Please note that there is an increase in price this year for all memberships. Triangle Aquatics unfortunately has had increases in their prices (insurance, chemicals, etc) for the past couple of years and has done their best to insulate us from seeing any effects. One of the other unfortunate consequences of COVID is that in order for them to retain lifeguards and attendants their labor costs have significantly gone up the past 2 years and they were no longer able to protect us from their rising costs across the board. This in turn meant that our contract with them went up this year. They remain the lowest priced pool management company that we have bid out.

Our Early Bird Discount is back this year and is good until Feb 28, 2022. The Teen Pass we offered last year did not gain much interest, so it is no longer being offered.

We will be processing payments via Venmo again this year. One request we have is that if you would like to pay via Venmo please be sure to send the completed application in to us via email. Sending it into the PO Box and requesting to pay via Venmo creates some extra work and makes it hard to keep the application and the invoice connected together. Where the membership process is still manually handled, anything we can do to streamline it is appreciated. Of course, we still accept payment via Check, Money Order/Cashiers Check and will also accept Cash once the pool is open.

Payment Process·
Check Payments (full or partial):
Fill out the attached form and mail in to the address on the form.

Venmo Payments (full or partial):
Fill out a membership form and email it to hhcpool2@gmail.com. Include in the email if you would like to pay in full or are looking for partial payments.
We will then send you an email with Venmo instructions.

We are also working hard on planning events for the summer and would love input! Please feel free to come to our monthly board meetings which are open to all members. They are held the 3rd Monday of every month at 7pm in the clubhouse.
Please note that our next meeting is Monday 1/24 at 7pm due to the holiday on Jan 17th.

We are excited for the 2022 season and cannot wait to see you! Please let us know if you have any questions!

Swimmingly Yours,
Heather Hills Pool

Heather Hills COVID-19 Update

From our email sent out May 6, 2020:

Hello Pool Friends,

Things have certainly changed in our lives since this time last year. We hope all of you and your families and friends are healthy and safe and adapting to the new normal as best as you can.

Like many of you, we are hoping that we will all be able to use the pool this summer. Right now we’re all in a waiting mode pending what the governor does, as the pool falls under the Phase 2 part of the reopening plan for NC.

The board has already been in discussions about how we would handle it if the pool winds up opening late or the worst case shut down all summer. Obviously no decision has been made yet as again we are pending the outcome of the governor’s decision. However at this point we are planning on opening on schedule unless otherwise mandated.

Please continue to watch our Facebook page and your email for updates.

Swimmingly Yours,

Heather Hills Board
