Happy 2022 Pool Season!
We passed our 2022 inspection and we are excited for this summer! Please read through the below for information around this year. We have a lot to tell you so let’s get to it.
We will be doing our soft opening the weekend of May 21-22. Our official opening is Memorial Day Weekend!
The YMCA is back and using our pool again for their summer daycamp at Aversboro Elementary. Beginning on Monday June 13th they will be onsite at the pool M-F from 9-11AM.
Pool Hours are as below:
- Weekday Hours from Memorial Day through June 11
- Weekday Hours from June 14 through end of Season
- Weekend Hours starting on Saturday May 22
- Weekday Holidays (aka Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day)
Holidays that fall on a weekday will operate on Saturday hours of 10am-7pm.
The Concession Stand will be open for snacks on the weekends only. Prices will be posted at the Concession Stand. The Concession Stand will be CASH and credit cards ONLY. Check payments will not be accepted for concessions.
Bring your own Food/Drink
As always families are welcome to bring their own food and drinks as long as they are in plastic or metal containers. NO GLASS IS ALLOWED INSIDE THE GATE due to safety reasons. Please be aware that the Board will be monitoring the deck and if we see glass inside the deck, you will be asked to remove the glass item.
The last few years we were able to have food trucks. However now that the food trucks are able to book at larger festivals since COVID restrictions are gone, many food trucks are asking us for a non-refundable deposit or asking us to guarantee a certain number of sales. We would be responsible for any sales not made. As such, we do not have any food trucks booked this year. Turn and Burn BBQ is the only one we have so far that is not requiring a deposit or sales guarantee, they will be on site for Opening Weekend on Saturday May 28.
If you know of someone with a truck that would be interested in getting on the schedule, please have them email email@example.com.
Electronic Check In
All paid members as of opening day will be entered into our Check in computer system. When you arrive at the pool, please give the check in attendant your name and the names of those in your family entering the pool. They will check in the individuals as necessary.
Please note that we will be verifying email addresses at the start of the season as we have had some emails bounce back to us when we have sent out mass emails with information in them. We want to be sure that we have everyone’s correct email and while we love all our members, some of the handwriting is hard to read on the applications!
Please be patient with our check-in attendants as they follow the check in process and email verification processes, we have asked them to follow.
The pool be unguarded Monday – Friday and only have guards at the pool on Saturday and Sunday when the larger crowds occur. While this is not the optimum situation, this is no different than an apartment or HOA pool that is unguarded. This is due to the ongoing situation where Triangle Aquatics (and all pool management companies nationwide) are having issues getting enough guards to cover all operating hours of all pools. In speaking with Triangle Aquatics many of the area pools are in the same situation as us and have been making the same decision regarding guards for their Monday-Friday hours.
There will be a pool attendant that is Triangle Aquatics employee at the pool during the weekday hours. This employee will be CPR Certified (not lifeguard certified) and will be running the check in for the pool.
Since there will be not a guard on duty Monday-Friday the diving boards will be closed during those times. We realize that the diving boards are a lot of fun for all ages, however based on safety concerns, this seemed like the best decision. Boards will be open to all on the weekends when there are guards on duty.
Do you know a teenager looking for work this summer? Are they interested in being a lifeguard? Triangle Aquatics is looking for lifeguards for the summer.
Their website has the application linked from the home page: www.triangleaquatics.com
Alternatively, they also have a domain that takes the interested party directly to the application (it’s easy to remember!): www.lifeguard.love
Once the application is filled out, a representative will contact them by phone for a virtual interview.
We are thrilled to welcome Cheryl Logan back again this summer as a swim lesson and swim safety teacher! She is certified through the Red Cross and has been teaching new swimmers of all ages in private or group lessons for numerous years.

Guest Pass/Guest Books
An individual guest is limited to 5 visits per season. This is not 5 times per member they are a guest of, it is 5 times total for the season regardless if they come in under daily passes or on a guest book pass.
Members who are 16+ may bring Guest(s) to the pool upon payment of a Guest Fee. All guests must register at the Check In booth upon Check in. Guest passes are $10/day with children under the age of 2 free. The member the guest is coming in under MUST be present at the time of the visit.
If you have ordered a Guest Book OR you are a grandfathered member who has the guest passes as part of your membership, we will be handing out a Family Guest Pass this year. This pass must be presented at the time of the visit of the guest and we will punch the visit out. Like the Daily pass, guests may come in on a Guest Book with members who are 16+.
Note: Guest Pass books are the responsibility of the family to hold on to. Heather Hills is not responsible for lost or stolen Guest Pass books.
